Full Backyard Remodel
The whole yard, planned once and built in the right order. Or one part now and the rest later.
- Planned once, as one yard
- Built in the right order
- All at once, or in phases
Backyard design and build
Pools, patios, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, landscaping and drainage. Our lead contractor starts by walking the yard with you.
01Start here
Pick one to start. You don't need a finished plan to call.
Most people start with a list of problems and a few photos they like. Sorting that out is our job.

The whole yard, planned once and built in the right order. Or one part now and the rest later.
03Under the yard
The parts you never see decide how a yard holds up. So we plan those first, even if you build in stages.
Where the rain goes, and how the ground slopes away from the house.
Footings and walls that hold the slope, with drainage behind them.
Run under the future patio, so nothing gets dug up later.
Set on a packed base and sloped so water runs off.
Plants, drip lines and lights go in last.

Not ready to do it all at once? Plan the whole yard now and build it in phases. How phasing works
05The site visit
Our lead contractor comes to your home and walks the yard with you. Most of the visit is listening: how you use the yard now, what bothers you about it, and what you want it to do.
Then we look at what shapes the plan, explain what we would do and why, and tell you if part of your wish list does not fit the yard, and what would work instead.
You leave knowing what the yard needs and what happens next. We give you a date for your written proposal at the visit.
What we look at in your yard
06After the visit
Each part of the yard on its own line, so you can see what is planned where.
Written down before the work starts, not explained later.
If something needs to change during the work, we write it up and you approve it first.
07How we work
You live next to the work. We plan for that before we start.
You'll be living next to the work. Before we start, we agree on work hours, the gate the crew uses and how pets stay safe.
If something comes up during the work, we explain it, write up any change, and you approve it before we do it.

We hired Ace Design & Build for a full backyard remodel that included a new pool and outdoor kitchen, and we couldn't be happier with the result. They completely transformed the space and did a great job with the layout and overall design. ... We've already gotten so much use out of the backyard and it feels like we have a whole new space to enjoy.
Ace Design & Build completely transformed our backyard in Brentwood. We had them install new pavers, update the landscaping and plants, and rework the entire outdoor space. The difference is incredible, it went from outdated to a beautiful extension of our home. ... We love the finished space and have been spending so much more time outside.
They also talked us into built-in bench seating along the edges, which sounded like a minor detail at the time but has become one of our favorite parts of the whole thing. ... Clean site every evening, no drama, no delays. The deck has completely changed how we spend our weekends. We're outside constantly now.
